Meetings at a Glance
When
Thursdays at 6:30 PM. We follow the school calendar — no school means no meeting.
Monthly Rhythm
3 Den meetings + 1 Pack-wide meeting (every 3rd week).
Summer Fun
Special events in May, June & July — no regular meetings.
What is a Den?
Scouts are placed in small groups of peers in the same grade to work on age-appropriate achievements. Here’s where your Scout fits in:
A Family Adventure
Cub Scouting is designed for families to experience together. You aren’t just dropping your child off — you get a front-row seat to their growth, achievements, and fun.
How Family Involvement Works
- At Meetings: Parents are always welcome and encouraged to stay. For younger ranks, an adult partner attends every meeting alongside their Cub.
- At Home: Most advancement is flexible. Miss a meeting? Your Den Leader will show you how to complete the activity together at home.
- At Events: Family members and siblings are invited to most outings, campouts, and special events.
Powered 100% by Parents
Pack 925 has no paid staff — our leaders are parents just like you. The more families lend a hand, the richer our program becomes. No experience needed — all it takes is a willingness to “Do Your Best,” the same motto we teach the kids! You can host a single 15-minute den activity, help set up, organize a campout meal, or shadow an experienced leader to learn the ropes.

Campout Essentials — the “Cub Scout Six”
Don’t rush to buy expensive gear! A simple setup from big-box stores works great. We send a full packing checklist before every campout — but always bring these six:
- Water Bottle
- First Aid Kit
- Flashlight (+ extra batteries)
- Whistle
- Sun Protection & Bug Spray
- Rain Gear / Poncho
Leave at home: electronics, alcohol, tobacco/vapes, fixed-blade knives, and firearms.
The Money, Explained
There are three separate things families pay for. Here’s exactly what each one is and where it goes.
Yearly Recharter
Your Scout’s official national membership — keeps them active, insured, and gives our pack access to council campgrounds.
Goes to: 100% to Scouting America (we don’t set or keep it).
When: Once a year on your join anniversary. They’ll email you.
Pack Dues
$100 / Scout / year
Goes to: 100% stays in our pack — badges, loops, patches, neckerchiefs, Pinewood Derby kits, and meeting supplies.
When: Collected once a year, usually around November. Fundraising can offset this!
Adventure Costs
~$15 / campout
Goes to: venue fees, campsite rentals, and camp food for special outings.
When: Only for optional trips — always with plenty of advance notice. No surprises!
Power Your Scout’s Adventure
Fundraising is never required — but it’s the best way to cover gear, campouts, and activities, often turning out-of-pocket costs into zero. It also builds confidence and real-world skills. Participate in one, both, or neither!
Pack 925 BBQ Sale
Fall — a huge local favorite! Scouts sell pre-order BBQ alongside Troop 925 & 927.
Popcorn Sales
Fall — online sales links for the council’s popcorn fundraiser.
Adventure Cards
Spring — discount cards packed with great local deals that practically sell themselves.
Stay Connected
Two easy ways to keep up with everything happening in the pack:
Our mailing list sends up-to-date emails each Sunday, and Facebook is where we share pictures and events.
π― Cub Scout Shoot-O-Ree
Built for new Cub Scouts (or current Scouts who recruited a friend this year)! Activities include BB Guns (age 6+), Archery, Slingshot, Games and more. To keep it safe, families book a specific time slot at registration. A mobile Scout Shop will be on-site for uniform needs. Family-friendly — siblings and family ages 6+ can participate too!
Gaffney, SC
Bring a picnic lunch for your family (no meal provided). Full details emailed the week prior.
